Maritime Security Personnel Training

The International Maritime Organisation assumes that all security personnel possess the maritime experience on the one hand and the practical knowledge to handle piracy on the other.

However necessary for basic ship safety, the current requirements for security officers are simply not adequate when it comes to prevent piracy attempts.

Via Offshore Marine Academy (OMA), OMS has the capacity to train security personnel in the fields of both professional maritime security and anti-piracy.

Our Courses

Our unique series of specifically designed modules cover ensure that candidates are proficient in the fields of navigation, communication, observation, anti-piracy deterrence equipment and tactics, maritime hostile environment as well as kidnapping and hostage situations.

Our courses are led by our chief instructor and former Royale Marine commando Tim Crossin with over 27 years experience in maritime security. Our SSO, CSO, PFSO qualified instructors possess extensive practical knowledge of maritime counter terrorism operations, pirate threats, close protection and boat training.
